Hello, reader. Thanks for stopping by. Here you'll find pop culture oozing out of the page, funky finds, criticisms, funny vids/pics, and just whatever I want to entertain you with.
Don't ask questions. Just take what I give you. Trust me, you'll like it.
My family and I have always tried to attend the St. Louis County Fair & Air Show every year or so. It always had fun rides, shows, food and of course, old planes used in the wars. I wanted to go this year and get my dad on a Huey helicopter for a little Vietnam flashback, but according to this article, we won't be able to go anymore. It doesn't say it flat out in the article, so I will. They're not doing the fair anymore basically because they don't make enough of a profit. They're basically saying, "Screw all of you families who have been coming back year after year!" We had a great time in 2006 when Bob Kuban and this Motown band played. I was dancing my pants off and singing along. Now no one we'll ever get to grace the grounds of that historical airport. It just saddens me.
Corporations are adding things up and saying, "Well, we won't make a profit, so...we're cancelling it for good!" Oh, okay, so pretty much everything in America, if it doesn't get enough exposure and usage, even if it's been there for hundreds of years, they're going to take it away. (Softball in the Olympics for example!) Whatever's best for the ol' pocket book, right? Whatever makes money. Not what's best for the people.
To the organizers of this air show, I have one thing to say: St. Louis is boring enough as it is and you take away the one thing we look forward to at the end of summer?!? What THE hell!?!
