Hello, reader. Thanks for stopping by. Here you'll find pop culture oozing out of the page, funky finds, criticisms, funny vids/pics, and just whatever I want to entertain you with.
Don't ask questions. Just take what I give you. Trust me, you'll like it.
I know you're probably going to say, "Where have you been living? Under a rock?!?", but in all truths I just found this out. Amazon made an application for your toolbar that lets you add whatever item from whatever store to your Amazon Wishlist. The items you like don't have to be just from Amazon anymore. It's a miracle!! I was hoping somebody would help me organize all the stuff I want that I'll never get.
My family and I have always tried to attend the St. Louis County Fair & Air Show every year or so. It always had fun rides, shows, food and of course, old planes used in the wars. I wanted to go this year and get my dad on a Huey helicopter for a little Vietnam flashback, but according to this article, we won't be able to go anymore. It doesn't say it flat out in the article, so I will. They're not doing the fair anymore basically because they don't make enough of a profit. They're basically saying, "Screw all of you families who have been coming back year after year!" We had a great time in 2006 when Bob Kuban and this Motown band played. I was dancing my pants off and singing along. Now no one we'll ever get to grace the grounds of that historical airport. It just saddens me.
Corporations are adding things up and saying, "Well, we won't make a profit, so...we're cancelling it for good!" Oh, okay, so pretty much everything in America, if it doesn't get enough exposure and usage, even if it's been there for hundreds of years, they're going to take it away. (Softball in the Olympics for example!) Whatever's best for the ol' pocket book, right? Whatever makes money. Not what's best for the people.
To the organizers of this air show, I have one thing to say: St. Louis is boring enough as it is and you take away the one thing we look forward to at the end of summer?!? What THE hell!?!
I found these really cute bracelets online today. But be forewarned, they're not your usual bracelets. Oh no. They're made from old cameras! Yes, it's true. They're made from recycled lens parts and are quite expensive. Not that I'm going to buy them or anything cause I don't have that kind of dough. Just thought I'd be one of the firsts to spread the word on this unique and one-of-a-kind item.
I bought some washcloths from Brylane Home for $2.49 just to get a free chinese food wok set. Okay, they're actually pretty freakin' soft. Here's my review:
I got these simply for their price of $2.49, not expecting much. But they're actually VERY soft and made of high quality material. If I'm going to buy a sheet or towel in the future, I think I'll get the Egyptian Cotton.
I made yet another purchase online, and this time I got a FREE gift. Brylane Home has been offering great deals the past couple of weeks. For any purchase, you can either get a FREE phone, purse or quilt. So I bought myself a scarf valance last week and voila! It just arrived today and I put up the valance. It's great. The quilt is also very cute. It's nice and soft.
I also made another purchase today and that was a pair of $2 washcloths in order to get a FREE 11 piece Wok set. Call me cheap, but I don't care! I'm into the Chinese theme this week for the Olympics. I've already eaten Chinese food twice since the opening ceremony. I'm hooked.

This scarf valance is exactly what I was looking for. For my room I have an India theme, and this fits perfectly! It's long enough and just the right shade of orange. I was hoping it wouldn't be bright orange. It's more like amber-orange. I love it!
About a week ago, I got into another one of those "I want to buy everything I see" modes. I just got back from vacation with a few of my souveniers and I wanted more, dammit! So I've been watching HSN, the Gem channel, QVC, shopping online for summer clearance specials. And you bet your bottom dollar I'm using coupon codes! They're the greatest thing since hot pants. Ohh baby!
I've actually really been impressed with HSN's website, more so than QVC or the Gem Channel. (They're getting there--eventually.) But they have absolutely amazing deals on hip jewelry and other kinds of trinkets. I wish I had a millionaire hubby so I could buy everything on there.
Here's the thing though: Have you ever felt that everything you like is always the most expensive item? ME TOO! OMG! It's always that way, everywhere I go. I must have expensive taste, but I certainly don't pay those kinds of prices!
Ooh! But I did get a good deal today. My first ever HSN purchase of my very own. An All-In-One Lexmark Printer/Scanner/Copier/Fax, with the ink and some free scrapbooking software. $88, FREE SHIPPING, and I used Flex-Pay! Thank you. Thank you very much.
So anywho, my overall point I was trying to get across in this post is that: A - Work for your discounts, ladies. Search the web for lower prices and coupon codes. Use what god gave you! B - HSN isn't just for old ladies. They have lots of other things besides gold bejeweled belts and wrinkle creams.
