Hello, reader. Thanks for stopping by. Here you'll find pop culture oozing out of the page, funky finds, criticisms, funny vids/pics, and just whatever I want to entertain you with.
Don't ask questions. Just take what I give you. Trust me, you'll like it.
Today is a sad day for me. One of my favorite actors died, and what's worse is that I found out days after the fact. Van Johnson, star of movies such as "In the Good Old Summertime", "Brigadoon", "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo", and "Yours Mine and Ours", although 'Summertime' was my favorite. I also like "Too Young to Kiss", "A Guy Named Joe", "Three Guys Named Mike", "Two Girls and a Sailor", "Till the Clouds Roll By", "Thrill of a Romance", and pretty much all the rest, but these are the best of the best.
I had wanted to write him a letter asking for an autograph, but I was too late. I read forums on IMDB with people saying "Leave the poor man alone! Let him grow old in peace!" Yes, I'm sure after losing his hearing and retiring, the man would want to be left alone, but who wants to forget the golden years of Hollywood? I would think if I was as old as he was and still got letters from fans in the teens, I'd be thrilled. It shows you that people will never forget him or his movies.
Van is right up there with Jimmy Dean being one of my all time faves. I'll miss him very much.
