Hello, reader. Thanks for stopping by. Here you'll find pop culture oozing out of the page, funky finds, criticisms, funny vids/pics, and just whatever I want to entertain you with.
Don't ask questions. Just take what I give you. Trust me, you'll like it.
I've found some cool movies coming out soon. They're still filming and casting is up in the air, but they'll be in theaters very soon. Here's some I found:
The Runaways: Starring Kristen Stewart & Dakota Fanning, this movie tells the true story of the infamous 70's teenage girl rock group, the Runaways. I was so excited when I first heard they were going to be making this. Not only am I a newly found fan of Kristen Stewart via Twilight, I've been a fan of the Runaways for a few years now. I first discovered them after accidentally flipping on their documentary and I learned all about their history. I then went online and downloaded "Cherry Bomb" and instantly wanted to be a teenage punk rocker like them. That dream died, but my love of their music and style hasn't. (Release Date: 2010; CURRENTLY FILMING!)
The Story of Bonnie and Clyde: Starring Hilary Duff, Thora Birch*, Kevin Zegers, Cloris Leachman, Shawn Ashmore*. Yet another remake of the classic gangster love story. But this time you have Lizzie McGuire, IceMan, Teeny, that AirBud kid, and crazy Cloris. Dozens of other actors are either signed on or rumored to be in the cast, so look out. The reason I'm excited to see this one is because I love the original from 1967 with Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. Faye's hair and clothing inspired so many women back in the day and the movie became an instant classic. Let's just hope this 2010 version isn't a musical or artistic...something really cornball, in other words. (Release Date: 2010; CURRENTLY in PRE-PRODUCTION!)(* denotes rumored casting)
Whip It: Starring Ellen Page, Drew Barrymore, Juliette Lewis, Kristen Wiig, Eve. I heard talk about this movie maybe a year or two ago. All I heard was Drew Barrymore + Roller Derby and I was hooked. Now after watching the trailer, I'm ready to go see it this very moment. Not kidding. It looks stylish, comical, and finally, something NEW for a change. Drew always delivers in her movies, no matter what. I expect this to be an instant fave of mine. I might even join a roller derby league in the near future...you never know. (Psst! Side note: Har Mar Superstar makes a cameo as a coach. In case you don't know who he is, he's an R&B/techno singer who looks like Ron Jeremy but has a great style and voice. I first saw him when he opened for Kelly Osbourne a few years ago. He has no band. He has no instruments. Just an mp3 player/laptop thing with pre-recorded music that he sings along with. But seriously, check him out. Just look away when he exposes his ass crack...)(Release Date: 10/9/09)
